If you would like to help ensure compatibility between your HealthVault-connected application and other HealthVault integrations, one of the best things you can do is make available an instance of your application that connects to the HealthVault Pre-Production Environment (PPE).  This needs to be an independent instance of your application (not your production instance) that is available for use by other HealthVault partners for development and testing purposes.

The benefits are shared all around.  If you are a data provider, this allows HealthVault applications that consume and use your data to test and verify that everything works end to end, and that vocabularies and other data are used correctly.  By helping other applications consume your data, your data is more valuable and portable, making customers see more value in you as a data source.  If you are a data consumer, this allows data providers to check to make sure that the data they are writing will work properly in your consuming application.  Partners writing data want it to be read properly, and those reading data want to ensure that those writing it can do so in a way that can be read correctly.

If you want to help other HealthVault partners read and/or write data in a way that works with your application, then making a PPE version of your application available is strongly recommended.
